New Life-Saving Babyleo Incubators for NICU babies

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Rano Community Trust, Kidz First’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit now has eight state-of-the-art Babyleo incubators, providing life-saving care to our most vulnerable babies - those born very early or weighing less than 1500 grams. These babies need incubators because their bodies are not fully developed to survive outside the womb.

“My baby is supposed to still be in my tummy; thanks to this incubator, my baby is surviving.”

Adelaide’s mum, Haneli.

Babyleo incubators create a womb-like environment to support premature babies like Adelaide (pictured), born at just 1,400 grams. They help regulate temperature, prevent infection, and support underdeveloped organs such as lungs with integrated oxygen therapy. Features like humidity control, gentle warming, and soft lighting protect delicate skin and developing senses. Transparent panels enable parents to bond with their little ones through skin-to-skin care, while allowing for essential medical interventions such as feeding tubes and phototherapy for jaundice.

After two months in a Babyleo, Adelaide gained strength, and by three months, she was ready to go home.

Thank you Rano Community Trust for saving lives and bringing peace of mind
